Over 100,000 French Protesters March Against Same-Sex Marriage, Adoption

November 17, 2012 — More than 100,000 people rallied across France on Saturday to protest a government bill that would grant marriage and adoption rights to same-sex couples.

In Paris alone, 70,000 people turned out at one rally, said police – organisers put the figure at 200,000 – while another 22,000 protested in the southeastern city of Lyon, said police, and up to 8,000 in the southern city of Marseille.
