Head Of U.S. Bishops' Conference Calls For 'return To Civility' In Public Debate


"We are facing a time that seems more divided than ever," Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, has warned.

Cardinal DiNardo, of Galveston-Houston, called for civility to return to the public debate in his first address on November 13 as USCCB president during the bishops' fall general assembly, according to the Catholic News Service.

He said that contemporary challenges are great, but that they can be addressed without anger and with love.
