Lifeissues is mainly concerned with publishing thoughtful articles directly related to issues raised in Evangelium Vitae. However, from the very beginning, we have also published a few related homilies, notably by Fr. Al Cariño, O.M.I., Fr. Tony Pueyo, and others.

Please use the pulldowns below to select a homily by Liturgical Calendar date.

New! Love heals and challenges
Easter Sunday C-3

Al Carino
The task of caring for our brethren and the Church was not handed to Peter alone. Each one of us has a mission to fulfill among them and in the Church. And this we alone can do considering our unique capabilities and talents as well as our exposure to circumstances and experiences exclusively our own.

New! Do You Love Me?
Third Sunday of Easter (C)

Antonio P. Pueyo
Peter did not leave us beautiful poetry. He left us the testimony of a man in love with the Lord. He offered his life.

New! The Problem of Fear and Death

Tom Bartolomeo
Most do not see death the same way. Many live lives in fear of one thing or another which explains why so few face this evil world with courage and hope either afraid of reprisal or afraid of offending anyone - the 'mind my own business' Catholic who 'goes along to get along' who is not Apostolic to his relatives, neighbors and associates the way the Apostles were. They can always 'go fishing', I suppose.

New! Looking at Us Through Rose Colored Glasses

Douglas McManaman
Synopsis: When God sees us, He sees a likeness of His Son, and he delights in us as a result of that. There's a sense in which God the Father looks at us through rose colored glasses.

New! What Have We Learned? (Lent 3)

Proclaim Sermons
God speaks to us -- maybe even especially so -- in the midst of disaster.

New! Why Praise the Lamb? (Easter Sunday 3)

Proclaim Sermons
This text consists of two hymns of praise to the Lamb, Christ and God by the heavenly hosts, but no reason for these praises is given. If we put these hymns in the context of the whole of Revelation, we see that the Lamb will open the scroll that reveals God's "game plan" for the world, a plan that ends with the defeat of evil and the heavenly city coming down to earth.
