Look Up!

"And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? " (Genesis 24:63-65)

Rebekah was at the well, drawing water (to quench the thirst of others) when she first caught the eye of Abraham's servant; who was searching for the perfect bride for Isaac. (vs. 15-22). Isaac and Rebekah were, both, in the field when they first saw each other. Isaac was meditating whenever he first saw her. She was being brought towards him, on her camel, by Abraham's servant.

They, both, had to refocus their vision before they could see each other. Both of them had to look up!

As long as we keep our vision focused upward, heavenward (our eyes on the Lord), He will, at the proper time, cause our eyes to be opened; to see the one He's chosen for us. Until then, we, too, must be serving others; whether in His field or meditating on the Master!
