Homilies

Lifeissues is mainly concerned with publishing thoughtful articles directly related to issues raised in Evangelium Vitae. However, from the very beginning, we have also published a few related homilies, notably by Fr. Al Cariño, O.M.I., Fr. Tony Pueyo, and others.

Please use the pulldowns below to select a homily by Liturgical Calendar date.

New! Living in hope despite...
Easter A-1

Al Carino
The message of Easter is this: Yes, we have suffered and continue to suffer. Yes, we have sinned and a long list of future sins still awaits us. But despite all these, we continue to hope, remain a hope-ful people. And this because with Jesus' resurrection we have become heirs of the fruits of His resurrection.

New! Living in hope despite...
Easter 1 A

Al Carino
For many of us, Easter answers the most fundamental questions asked since time immemorial: What is the meaning of life? Is life just a vain struggle for some joy and satisfaction that is terminated by death or are we born only to suffer? After suffering, what? After death, what? What is evil and sin? Can we triumph over them?

New! Easter everyday

Tom Bartolomeo
Once we understand how God operates as a man, the sooner we can follow his "way". It is the great irony of life that the heavy burdens we bear can only be lightened when we personally acknowledge the burdens of others as did Jesus. We need to put a face on those we help and those who help us. Easter is the kindness of a visible breathing disciple of Jesus as the Son of Man who washes feet and keeps Easter alive everyday.
