Homilies

Lifeissues is mainly concerned with publishing thoughtful articles directly related to issues raised in Evangelium Vitae. However, from the very beginning, we have also published a few related homilies, notably by Fr. Al Cariño, O.M.I., Fr. Tony Pueyo, and others.

Please use the pulldowns below to select a homily by Liturgical Calendar date.

New! When Weary and Burdened
Ordinary Sunday A-14

Al Carino
In inviting us to come to Him and find our rest in Him, Jesus is telling us that we have to acknowledge our dependence on His Father. Thus we have to learn to "let go" of our burdens, worries and anxieties and entrust them to God. For if we "let go," we will experience what Jesus had said, "My yoke is easy, and my burden light" and "I will give you rest."

New! My Yoke is Easy
Ordinary Sunday A-14

Antonio P. Pueyo
Jesus invites us to a new attitude regarding work, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest." This sentence relates work (yoke), attitude (gentleness of heart) and rest. Jesus describes his yoke as easy his burden as light.
