Darel E. Paul is the Willmott Family Third Century Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Political Economy Program at Williams College. He is the author of three books including From Tolerance to Equality: How Elites Brought America to Same-Sex Marriage (2018). He is also a regular columnist at Compact Magazine and his popular work has appeared at First Things, The American Conservative, Postliberal Order, and other outlets. His current scholarly projects are on contemporary nationalism in Western countries as well as on the political sociology of fertility decline
