"A Special Place"

There is a special place in life,
That needs my humble skill,
A certain job I'm meant to do,
Which no one else can fulfill.

The time will be demanding,
And the pay is not too good
And yet I wouldn't change it
for a moment -- even if I could.

There is a special place in life,
A goal I must attain,
A dream that I must follow,
Because I won't be back again.

There is a mark that I must leave,
However small it seems to be,
A legacy of love for those
Who follow after me.

There is a special place in life,
That only I may share,
A little path that bears my name,
Awaiting me somewhere.

There is a hand that I must hold,
A word that I must say,
A smile that I must give
For there are tears to blow away.

There is a special place in life
that I was meant to fill.
A sunny spot where flowers grow,
upon a windy hill.

There's always a tomorrow and the
best is yet to be,
And somewhere in this world,
I know there is a place for me.

With all the reasons we find wherein people are not good enough to serve, just maybe we could look to our heart and find a reason why they could.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. James 2:5-9

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:21

Though I don't know its origination, I have saved this poem for a number of years, now. It speaks of the cry of my heart, for others and now for myself, and is a great portion of what my service has been all about ... to help as many as possible to serve effectively as God has gifted them ... and to let the rest know that though people have failed them, God will never fail them.

Let me be the first of many who serve via email and internet, to come out of the closet and say ... You are the only church family I have, the only place where my service is welcomed, the only place where I can come to worship and fellowship and even give you a glimpse of the love God has placed in my heart for you. Without you, I could not have survived!

God is raising up a peculiar generation, that will serve Him at all costs, with gifts thought only for the early church and new ways to use talents like never before. Only such service isn't welcomed. Neither is it understood that in setting those held spiritually captive free to serve God, they will no longer see the spiritual infirmities that they themselves caused.

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6

As you see the net grow stronger and stronger for the Lord, know that you are seeing God's promises unfolding ... that the weak are gaining and gaining in strength to reach the world ... and the church will have had little to anything to do with it at all.

We are the church's misfits ... but God's messengers. And, there will be a special place for us.
